[Changwon K-POP World Festival 2018] Toronto Preliminary Rounds

1. Contestant Eligibility and Requirements

□ Contestants must be residents of Ontario/Manitoba.

□ Contestants are not eligible if BOTH parents currently hold or have ever held Korean citizenship. (If this only applies to one of your parents, you are still eligible)

□ Contestants must not be restricted from travelling overseas. Please make sure your passport is valid. If you are selected as a finalist, you need to provide a copy of your passport within a week.

□ Contestants must agree to be filmed and broadcast by KBS (Korea Broadcasting System) and ARIRANG KOREA TV in both Toronto and Korea.

※ A television crew from KBS will be visiting Toronto and will broadcast live recordings of the Toronto Preliminary Rounds.

□ Contestants can choose from two different categories: Vocal or Dance performance

- Vocal: Vocal groups are allowed a maximum of two backup dancers after qualifying for the final rounds.

- Dance: Dance team should match the same number of members as the original K-pop team. If a contestant team has more members than the original team they are covering, not all members may be invited to the Final.

※ The Toronto Preliminary round 1st place winners (1 vocal and 1 dance) will get additional pointstoward the Final Round in Changwon, Korea.  

 3. Toronto Preliminary Rounds

1st Round of Toronto Preliminary

- Submit the video of the contestant(s) by 11:59 P.M. EST on Sunday, June 3, 2018

The deadline for submissions will be strictly enforced. Late submissions will not be accepted.

 Final Round of Toronto Preliminary

- Date & Time: June 16, 2018 at 3pm

- Venue: Innis Town Hall (2 Sussex Ave, Toronto, ON)

- The 2 winners (1 vocal and 1 dance) will be granted the opportunity to be part of the global qualifying round(s) for the Final to take place in Changwon, Korea.

※ Footage of the 2 winning teams will be sent to KBS but the winning teams are also welcome to submit additional footage to KBS after the Toronto Preliminary.

※ The winning dance team must additionally film and submit footage of them dancing while singing their song (AR). They must have the lyrics memorized since if they are selected in the Global Qualifying Rounds as a Finalist to visit Korea, they will be recording AR in Korea for their final performance in Changwon KBS.

4. Schedule for the Finals after Toronto Regional Preliminary

The result of Toronto Preliminary will be sent to KBS, the main organizer of the Festival, and the selection processes are as follows.
